How Does the Social Advocacy Feature Work?

Social Advocacy Features

It’s really easy.

To activate Social Advocacy, navigate to Content > Controls and open the General section. Here, you’ll find the new Social Advocacy option. Just please be aware that this can only be managed by Account Administrators.

Default Settings

Social Advocacy Feature Default Setting

By default, Social Advocacy is set to Off for all content and stories. This means content creators will see the option to enable sharing, but it won’t be live unless they choose to activate it for specific content.

If you’re managing an external communications account, you may prefer to have sharing enabled by default. To do this, select the On by Default option. This will automatically place social sharing icons on all new stories. Content creators will still have the flexibility to disable sharing for particular posts when they want to.

What Happens When Social Advocacy is Enabled?

Social Advocacy Feature in Action

When Social Advocacy is activated for a story, subscribers will see social media sharing options at the bottom of their Broadcast-hosted page. If they choose to share a post, Broadcast will generate a custom link along with a pre-crafted starter message tailored for the chosen social platform.

Insights to Look Forward to

The Social Advocacy feature is currently in Beta. However, in the coming months, we’ll be introducing analytics to help you track and identify your top advocates. This will enable you to recognize and reward employees who actively share company content.

By acknowledging their contributions, you’ll not only enhance employee engagement but also foster a sense of ownership and pride in your company’s success. This, in turn, will further increase commitment to your organization and its culture, and boost morale across teams.
