Cerkl has introduced an exciting new Broadcast feature — Social Advocacy. This powerful tool is designed to extend your internal communication efforts beyond the company by allowing internal communicators to share key content across social networks.
With Social Advocacy, you can amplify your messages beyond internal channels, boost engagement, and reach wider audiences effortlessly.
The Role of Broadcast Social Advocacy
Broadcast Social Advocacy is especially useful for:
- Recruiting campaigns – Expanding reach by encouraging employees to share job openings with their own networks.
- Recognizing awards and achievements – Showcasing company milestones to a broader audience and enhancing brand reputation.
- Promoting internal/external hybrid events – Increasing participation by tapping into employees’ external connections.
- Sharing major announcements – Boosting visibility of company news and important updates by extending reach through employees.
How Does the Social Advocacy Feature Work?
It’s really easy.
To activate Social Advocacy, navigate to Content > Controls and open the General section. Here, you’ll find the new Social Advocacy option. Just please be aware that this can only be managed by Account Administrators.
Default Settings
By default, Social Advocacy is set to Off for all content and stories. This means content creators will see the option to enable sharing, but it won’t be live unless they choose to activate it for specific content.
If you’re managing an external communications account, you may prefer to have sharing enabled by default. To do this, select the On by Default option. This will automatically place social sharing icons on all new stories. Content creators will still have the flexibility to disable sharing for particular posts when they want to.
What Happens When Social Advocacy is Enabled?
When Social Advocacy is activated for a story, subscribers will see social media sharing options at the bottom of their Broadcast-hosted page. If they choose to share a post, Broadcast will generate a custom link along with a pre-crafted starter message tailored for the chosen social platform.
Insights to Look Forward to
The Social Advocacy feature is currently in Beta. However, in the coming months, we’ll be introducing analytics to help you track and identify your top advocates. This will enable you to recognize and reward employees who actively share company content.
By acknowledging their contributions, you’ll not only enhance employee engagement but also foster a sense of ownership and pride in your company’s success. This, in turn, will further increase commitment to your organization and its culture, and boost morale across teams.
